Web Sites information
It's Ian McKenzie here.
The URL of this site is www.ianmckenzie.info, and its main purpose is to provide information about the various web sites that I have published for both business and personal reasons. Links to many of them are on the left hand side of this page.
One of the things that annoys me on some web sites is out of date information. I am sure you have seen it. Thinks such as events being promoted that happened some weeks ago, or even worse months or years ago. But, having said that I must admit to being guilty myself. I have published hundreds of web sites. Many of these have been for other people and likewise many have been for me. Some sites I have not visited for a while and they need updating. I do plan on getting around to them all as soon as I am able. However, if you find mistakes or problems on any of my sites I would appreciate you letting me know about it.
Why the pen and the brown parchment paper as the template for this site?
Well the saying "the pen is mightier than the sword"* I was recently pondering over. The "pen" has been pretty much superseded in recent times by the conputer keyboard. How much time do you spend on the keyboard? It was just last week I was commenting to a colleague about the inordinate amount of time we spend sitting in front of a PC screen. It was only a few short years ago that the PC didn't exist. I still have in the shed my electric golf ball typewriter which was my pride and joy back in the 1980's.
Communication is vitally important for all of us. Personally I enjoy getting my thoughts down on paper ..., perhaps I should say computer screen.
I hope you enjoy browsing my information web site.
Cheers
Ian
[*The saying, "the pen is mightier than the sword" is from Edward Bulwer-Lytton's play Richelieu in 1939. However, similar thoughts have been expressed in far earlier times. The Greek poet Euripides around 400BC said, "the tongue is mightier than the blade"]
